I am still using my NexusOne (at least until a new iPhone arrives). But i allready preordered an iPad from Apple.

So i started searching for an app, which can show me my order status on my NexusOne. I was unable to find such an app, so i started coding one. It is still in early beta, but i would like to show it to you.

Please tell me what you like about it and what could be made better.

Update:

Have to take a deeper look, how the session id is generated. All i know for the moment is, that two parameters are changing. Trying to find  a solution to track this and get to know how this works.

At the moment, i only have a iMac 27″ i7 as the only hardware from apple (ok, i also use a BT Keyboard and Mouse as well as a 1TB TimeCapsule) for “visual” use. After i have sold my last 3G iPhone at the beginning of the year and switching over to a Nexus One, i will get an iPad as well as the new iPhone as soon as both things are available in Germany.

Therefore, i wanted to start again coding for Mac OSX and the iPhone OS. I am not very familiar with C in any shape, but very used to python and also to Java. In order to get a good start (allready owning a guide for iPhone developement) i bought me a book to learn Cocoa from the beginning to write apps for Mac OSX as well as the iPhone OS in the future.

Let´s see, what apps will come out in the future

Last week, Dropbox invited 500 peoople to try out the official DropBox app for android.

For those, who don´t know what dropbox is: DropBox is a cloud space, which syncs a folder, called dropbox on your mac or pc with the cloud. The big feature, via the cloud you can sync as many macs or pc with one cloud. So you are able to stay in sync with for example workspace files for developement.

At the moment, there are some DropBox apps available on the market, but they don´t seem to be as feature rich as the official one.

For me, i wasn´t able to be one of the first 500 people to link their android phones to their account.

The release to all android users is said to be some time away.

Update 05.05.2010:

Today, DropBox released their app to everyone through the Market. They didn´t wait “some month” like posted earlier ond their official blog.

I was able to play around with DropBox on my Nexus One. For now, i can say, everything looks nice and quite familiar.

There is only one thing i don´t know how to solve. How can i upload text to my DropBox on my NexusOne. Let´s see, if i find a solution for that.

Yesterday, my first App “InfoDroid” for the Android Market reached more than 20.000 downloads.

So i wanted say thank you to everyone who downloaded my app.

I have still some ideas in mind to make this app better and integrate more features.

Let´s see how long it will take for my theme to reach this goal.

I only wanted to let you all know, that since i got my nexus one, i am working on an update to my first app “Infodroid”.

Like you can see in the screenshot, there will be two more tabs.

Especially the last tab will be very interesting.

Additionally, i am planning on realeasing a paid version including some widgets for displaying the stats, which can be found within my app.

Yes, say did it. Ok, you can´t write real “apps” within python, but you can get quite next to it.
Now you are able two script within the ASE (Android Scripting Environment) small apps and use some of the Android api´s.
I tried it myself and wrote a “Hallo World” app in less than a minute.
It is very easy and everyone who likes python should give it a try.
At the moment, lua and BeanShell besides python is supported by the app. If you want to give it a try, find a downloadable apk file at http://code.google.com/p/android-scripting/.
There is no download on the market for the moment, so take a look at the webpage.

Last night i coded again fro three hours on my new app. Not much line of code, but some interesting investigations and updates.
Some problems came up. Let´s see how to fix them.

In the meantime i got some more requests on how to go on. So i will try to push the next update in the next few days.

Like you can see, i´m back in Android app developement.
I didn´t really like the iPhone to program on.
So, i started my second Android app today.
